Australasian Performing Rights Association (APRA) sought to prohibit Telstra from performing, or authorising the performance of works in public, broadcasting them, or transmitting them to subscribers of Telstra especially in relation to the playing of music. Telstra was held accountable for the playing of music over the telephone system by providing the transmission facility even though it did not provide the music.Record Number
